The paper contributes to the discussion of “From disregard to justice: A critical theory of global society and politics“, a monograph that summarises many years of research conducted by the philosopher and social scientist Marek Hrubec. The author of the paper contends that the central theme of the book is that of disregard; it attempts to capture the paradigm of recognition in its shift to a global context. Unlike the other contributions to the discussion of Hrubec’s theory, the present paper emphasizes that the pioneering contribution of this theory lies in laying the original methodological foundations of the critical theory and its derivative - development of social and political theory.
