About article:
The author analyzes results of the 1998 elections to the National Council of the Slovak Republic. At the level of districts he details regions with above average and below average support given to HZDS (Fig. 1), SDK (Fig. 2), SDL (Fig. 3), SMK (Fig. 4), SNS (Fig. 5), and SOF (Fig. 6). He also pays attention to the rate and structure of political preferences of population of the towns of Slovakia with more than 10 thousand inhabitants. Combining the dominating political subjects (which together obtained more than 50% of votes) he detailed eleven types of towns (Tab. 3). He separately presented the types containing at least five towns of Slovakia (Tabs. 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8). Finally he compares the structure of the dominating political subject in study towns with the one of the dominating subjects within the districts they are part of.
