From free abelian groups to free abelian $\ell$-groups

For each $n$, the free abelian group $F$ on countably many free generators will be equipped with a monoid $P_n$ making $(F,P_n)$ into the free $n$-generator abelian $\ell$-group. This is a generalization of the main result of the second author, published in the J. Pure Appl. Algebra \textbf{208} (2007), 549–554, only dealing with the case $n=2$.
