In recent years, mobile network geolocation data have emerged as a promising tool for analysing spatiotemporal patterns of population presence. This paper presents the first nationwide analysis of daily population rhythms in Slovakia based on data provided by the mobile network operator Slovak Telekom. The study analysed the location data of 1.3 million mobile phone users over a one-week period in April 2023, applying a no-vel data processing methodology combining dasymetric mapping and data standardisation at a 1×1 km grid scale. Using time-series clustering with dynamic time warping, three funda¬mental daily regimes were identified: work-oriented, residential, and balanced, concep¬tualised here as chronopolis. Moreover, this research reveals unique daily patterns shaped by regional commuting, local industry, and transit corridors. Friday mobility variations, in particular, illustrate how emerging work schedules and commuting behaviours are reshaping regional rhythms. Overall, the study demonstrates the considerable potential of mobile network data and time series clustering techniques to provide a detailed spatiotemporal mapping of human activity patterns at the national scale, offering valuable insights for transport modelling, urban planning, and population studies.
