The neutral type difference equation

$$ Δ(xn-pxn-τ) =qn \maxs\in[n-σ,n] xs ,    n=0,1,2,… , $$

where $p\in \Bbb R$, $τ$ is a positive integer, $σ$ is a nonnegative integer, $\{qn\}n=0$ is a nonnegative real sequence is studied. The existence and asymptotic properties of nonoscillatory solutions are considered. Some oscillation results are also obtained.
