About article:

The author compares his views on some problems of theoretical onomastics with those expressed by V. Blanár in his recent monograph Theory of Proper Name (Bratislava 1996). In agreement with V. Blanár, the author of the article considers onymic facts as an onymic-linguistic phenomenon. He proposes to differentiate between the terms systém and sústava. In the description of components of onymic contents, diachronic point of view should be taken into consideration.
