About article:
The typology of settlement in Slovakia is considered as relatively stable. The author divided the former urbanization process into six periods on the basis of his analysis of the traditional settlement structure in comparison with its demographic and social development. This process in the villages lying along transit roads (example Podbiel village) differed from the villages with only local tracks (example Hruštín village).
