and two of his followers to the poet Ján Hollý. The meeting of representatives
of the Protestant and Catholic intelligentsia in 1843 was a key moment
in the Slovak national historical narrative. It symbolizes national

as part of the nationalist repertoire, pointing to its use for the needs of
national ideology.
