About article:
The paper describes the current status of the safety level of flood protection structures and hydraulic structures constructed on streams in the Slovak Republic during the floods. Contribution also deals with design of solutions that implementation in the coming years should lead to establishing consistent mandatory methodology of determining the design flood loading of hydraulic structures. Subsequently, the safety level of individual dams, weirs and levees will be assessed, and determined the needs of implementation of remedial measures to minimize the risks of an accident or damage of these structures.
