About article:
This paper attempts to elaborate a mathematically formalized procedure for determining the size of geometrical diagrams used for depicting socio-economic entities. as for instance settlements. industrial plants, etc. on thematic maps. In the first section a basic statement is formulated and basic mathemathical relation derived in the second and third .sections an application of basic relation is carried out, in the fourth section a problem of graphical scale is discussed and in the filth section alternatives to the basic statement are introduced.
