About article:
Important aspect for recognising of hydrodynamics characteristics of a stream is flow velocity in it. This article presents comparison of two methods for determination of flow velocity by Flow Tracker device (ADV - Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry) and by tracer experiments (indicator method). Measurements were carried out in five cross-section profiles at the Hron River in the Brezno town residential area and seven cross-section profiles at the Váh River in the Liptovský Hrádok /Liptovská Porúbka villages residential area.
