New and older magnetotelluric and other geophysical data will be modeled using multi-dimensional direct and inverse algorithms incorporated into existing modeling packages. Initial magnetotelluric conductivity models will be used in integrated modeling with other geophysical parameters. These results will be confronted with models that will be obtained by simultaneous inversion of gravimetric and magnetic data with a relational connection of density, magnetic and conductivity parameters.
We will focus mainly on the area of eastern Slovakia in connection with the 2023 earthquake, where we will mainly monitor deeper tectonic faults and processes. Another area is the Gemerské Rudohorie Mts., where we plan to continue the ongoing research. We will mainly focus on the deeper tectonic structure and the tectonic relationship of the Gemeric unit with neighboring tectonic units. An important part will also be the monitoring of conductive zones, which may be related to metallogenetic processes.
The work requires basic knowledge of geophysics and electromagnetic theory and work with software packages on high-performance computers.
