Annotation
The topic is focused on the research of causes, mechanisms and possibilities to treat fear of heights, a condition that disturbs lives of many people. Virtual reality enables us to veridically simulate being in heights and offers a unique possibility for research, which, due to safety reasons, would not be feasible in real environments. A specificity of the doctoral project will be a focus on the processes of regulation of upright stance in relationship to threat represented by exposure to heights.
