Controlled Radical Photopolymerization of Vinyl Monomers.

With the growing complexity of advanced technologies, the demand for tailored polymers for special applications has dramatically increased. Polymers with well-defined structure and required properties can be prepared using controlled polymerization techniques. The thesis will be focused on optimization of reaction conditions of photopolymerizations for various vinyl monomers in order to prepare polymers with well defined molar mass and narrow dispersity. Preferably, polymerizations mediated by complexes of copper compounds and organocatalysts will be investigated. Synthesized polymers will be characterized by GPC and NMR. Polymerization techniques will be used also for modification of surfaces and synthesis of functional polymers with specific properties.
