Annotation
The main aim is to research and characterize the work of the young generation of women artists (especially female directors) in the Slovak theatre in the 21st century. The aim is also to identify and name their position in the context of Slovak and European theatre, to analyse the reasons why the majority of female artists (e.g. Júlia Rázusová, Iveta Ditte-Jurčová, Maja Danadová, Alžbeta Vrzgula, Veronika Malgot and others) are working in the sphere of independent theatres and theatre groups and why, with a few exceptions, their work is missing in established theatres. The aim of this dissertation is not to provide solitary profiles of individual female personalities, but to comparatively explore their specific creative poetics, finding commonalities in the formal, linguistic and thematic areas of their works.
