Abstract
The Book of Abstracts of the Nonreligion and Secularity Research Network (NSRN) Conference 2025, held in Bratislava, presents cutting-edge international research on nonreligion, secularities, and irreligion across diverse cultural and regional contexts. Contributions explore themes such as rituals and death practices in post-religious societies, ethics and morality without religion, generational transmission of belief and unbelief, conceptualizing and measuring nonreligion, and the intersections of nonreligion with environment, politics, migration, education, and digital culture. Special attention is given to Central and Eastern Europe, including the legacy of communism and current transformations, as well as minority and marginalized groups such as the Roma. The volume illustrates how nonreligion and secularity are negotiated at cultural crossroads, reflecting global diversity in practices, identities, and theoretical approaches.
