Filozofia a revolúcia bežného myslenia
This chapter examines the relationship between philosophy and everyday thinking (common sense) – that is, the ideas and opinions that ordinary people take for granted. Can philosophy reach the masses and shape their basic ideas about how the world and society function? Is philosophy capable of inspiring people to change their ways of life and, thereby, to change social relations? We will attempt to answer these questions from the perspective of Antonio Gramsci’s philosophy of praxis and selected post-Marxist thinkers who build upon Gramsci’s work. In contrast to the philosophy of abstract systems and existential meditations, which tends to distance itself from the problems of real life, we find in Gramsci’s conception of philosophy the premises for the emergence of what we call philosophical populism. At a time when right-wing populism is gaining hegemony in the political arena, political philosophy oriented toward equality and emancipation must also employ populist strategies to reach the broad masses.
