I am Rocco Imperatore, Native Italian speaker, recently graduated in Geology, with good command of spoken and written English.
I currently live in Bratislava.
I achieved my Master’s Degree in GeoTechnologies Science – curriculum in Georesources, with a thesis in geophysics and seismic lines interpretation “Evolution of the transition zone between the Utsira High and Stord Basin (South Viking Graben – Norway)”.
The thesis aims to define the western Stord Basin boundary fault evolution. I interpreted 3D seismic reflection cube of an offshore area, using Kingdom 8.7.1 software and Opendtect 6.0 software for the attribute analysis. Subsequently, I photo-interpreted the fractures and faults of three chosen areas in the southern Norwegian mainland and engaged a statistical comparison between those and the offshore interpreted faults, with an ArcGIS tool.
As for my Bachelor degree, Geology and Geosciences, I wrote a thesis in seismic and applied geology “Application of surface and borehole seismic techniques for the dynamic characterization of the soils”. I create a subsoil waves velocity model, next used for the “seismic analysis hazard” after L’Aquila 2009 Earthquake – Italy. For the thesis purpose, I took part in a preliminary field acquisition campaign in Casentino (AQ)- Italy, then processed the data acquired by using a dedicated software (Visual Sunt, SIP) to determine some dynamic parameters for the soil’s characterization.

Besides my academic career, I have work experience in different areas: I worked as an Administrative Secretary for an Italian NGO. I worked for a recruitment agency providing professional training courses which raise awareness about matters concerning unemployed people and training measures in connection with equal opportunities and careers advice, with particular reference to skill profiles.
