SAS Presidium will be complete

The fifteenth member of the current SAS Presidium will be doc. Mgr. Gabriel Bianchi, CSc, Director of the SAS Institute for Social Communication Research, replacing JUDr. Mgr. Martina Lubyová, PhD., who, after taking up the post of Minister of Education of Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic, has vacated her seat on the SAS Presidium. This was decided at the supplementary election of members the SAS Assembly on April 25th.
The main point of the SAS Assembly meeting was the presentation of candidates for the Presidium for the period 2017 - 2021. Doc. Mgr. Gabriel Bianchi, CSc. was highlighted, among other reasons due to efficacy in managing scientific teams and their output. Doc. Mgr. Soňa Pašteková, CSc. from the Institute of World Literature SAV emphasised her experience with organizational work at SAS and suggested closer links between the academic and university spheres. Ultimately, by a tight majority of votes (from all (even absent) members), Gabriel Bianchi was chosen for candidacy.
