Future of IT research in Slovakia

Extrapolation is forecasting method, which is using historical data to predict the future events. It is also the main idea of regional event which promotes the development of IT in research, education and business. Another reason for the event is the 60th anniversary of Institute of Informatics SAS. The event is called - Extrapolation 2016.

Opening ceremony of the event which will take more than the month will be held on Monday, 26.9 in the conference room in the area of Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava Patrónka. "During the opening we will inform about the program of the event and interested people can take a tour of the permanent exhibition of the history of computing, which is located within the SAS areal," says Ivana Budinská, director of the Institute of Informatics, who is the main organizer of the event. Since Monday the exhibition of historical computers will be held in the shopping center Bory Mall.
"Based on the past, we want to talk about where computing is heading and how it will develop," explains Ivana Budinská idea of the event, while adding that because it is organized by the academic and university institutions, it aims to draw attention of need for study and research of informatics.
