Automotive Industry Association of the Slovak Republic (AIA SR) is open, representative and unifying organization of the Slovak automotive industry. The Automotive Industry Association has 174 members, including car producers in Slovakia (Volkswagen Slovakia, PSA Pegueot Citroen Slovakia and Kia Motors Slovakia) as well automotive components suppliers. Aim of the AIA is creation of optimal condition for sustainable competitiveness of the Slovak automotive industry. AIA has intention to build research and development base in cooperation with Slovak Academy of Sciences, Slovak universites and automotive industry.
Slovak Academy of Sciences intends to build-up research Centre of Excellence for advanced materials appilication (CEMEA) will be based on long-term strategic cooperation between VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and University of Helsinki.
In this Memorandum of Understanding the Automotive Industry Association declares interest to coordinate cooperation of the Slovak automotive industry with Slovak Academy of Sciences in the frame of the new Centre CEMEA with the aim to build-up research and development base and strengthen transfer of knowledge from academic laboratories to potential end-users.
