Brokerský deň (Brokerage Day), which was held in the new Research Centre of Advanced Materials and Technologies for Current and Future Applications in Košice, (PROMATECH), was the final event connected to the project of the same name. That ended on 31 December 2015. Its financing was aided by means of a non-repayable financial contribution of 22,192,045.17 Euros within the framework of the Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovations, which included sources drawn from the European Regional Development Fund (85 %) and the state budget (15 %).

„The mission of the PROMATECH Centre is to conduct excellent blue skies research and applied research both focused on new materials and technologies. In addition, the Centre has as its mission to support excellent international cooperation, expert activity and consultancy for industry partners, technology transfer (TOT) as well as relevant training for graduates and post-graduate students which meets the needs of industry. The creation of the Centre has led to the fulfilment of one of the main objectives of the project, we have created a platform which aims to coordinate excellent research and development-related activities among the academic staff engaged in the area of advanced materials and technologies. Until recently these activities were in research workplaces all around Slovakia," said Prof. Ján Dusza, a member of the Presidium of the SAS who works at the SAS Institute of Materials Research. Prof Dusza, who is also the President of PROMATECH, added: „We strived to introduce some of the new technologies to our partners because most of the companies are not prepared for them yet."

Františka Dorčáková provided the attendees with useful information on PROMATECH itself as well as the laboratories which can be found in the Pavilion for Material Sciences. Martin Smejo from the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information in Bratislava, one of the participants at the event, excited attention with his paper on Popularization of Technology Transfer in the Academic World. He presented his hands-on experience and advice on promotion of results gained from scientific and research activities to the public, at various conferences or in the media without fear of plagiarism. In addition, he gave advice on procedures for getting a patent for an invention in the Slovak Republic as well as abroad.

After all the presentations and discussions, the participants at the event were shown around some of the new laboratories.
