The Institute of Parasitology (formerly the Helminthological Institute) is a research institution of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, established in 1953. It is a principal institution devoted to parasitological research in Slovakia. The Institute pursues a complex study on parasites and parasitic diseases of humans, animals and plants, engaged in the international collaboration and applying modern molecular techniques. Scientific results of the Institute have largely the character of basic less of strategic applied research.
