RNDr. Ján Budaj, CSc.

I studied astronomy at the Comenius University in Bratislava (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics). Since that time I have been working at the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Tatranska Lomnica. Apart from my home institute, I was lucky to gain more experience during a few long term positions abroad:

1999-2000, ULO and University College London.
Topic: NLTE abundances and NLTE radiative accelerations in the atmospheres of hot stars.

2003-2006, Penn State University
Topic: Synthetic spectra and Doppler tomography of interacting binaries.

2006-2007, University of Arizona
Topic: extrasolar planets and brown dwarfs.

2013-2014, Australian National University
Topic: Dust and protoplanetary disks.
